About the Fire District

The Sparkill-Palisades Fire District is a special district of the State of New York responsible for providing fire protection services to the communities of Sparkill and Palisades in the Town of Orangetown, Rockland County.

Service Area

Approximately 6 square miles covering the hamlets of Sparkill and Palisades, from residential neighborhoods to wooded areas along the Hudson River Palisades.

Board of Fire Commissioners

The elected board that oversees fire district operations, budget, and policy. Commissioners are elected by district residents and serve five-year terms.
